McFadyens Contractors worked with BAM Construction Ltd as the main subcontractor on the site for all civil engineering works.
The project involved 1,700m3 of bulk excavation, construction of piling platform, and installation of reinforced concrete groundbeams to create foundations. Due to the nature of the site the installation of a gas venting system was required below the structural slab. All formwork and concrete works were carried out by McFadyens.
We installed all services and ductwork to the site including Water, Sewerage, Electrical and Comms cabling. The upper car park was constructed with a fully designed permeable paving system in accordance with SUDS requirements. We also carried out all soft and hard landscaping including approximately 300 sq.m flag paving and approx 350sq.m of road construction including Bituminous Macadam surfacing.
Our Project Manager met weekly with the BAM project manager ensuring communication was efficient and effective and keeping to the agreed programme for the works. Coordination with all relevant parties was key to the success of this project as it was situated within the emergency response site of Campbeltown Hospital.
