Alongside Breedon Aggregates Ltd, McFadyens Contractors worked as the main subcontractor on the site for all civil engineering works on this aspect of Argyll & Bute Council’s CHORD regeneration scheme.
The project involved 120m of replacement footway, reinforced concrete edge beam incorporating surface water drainage outlets and conservation guardrail; installation of replacement lighting columns, stone pitching to the revetment slope and formation of feature raised planter.
We supplied, imported and prepared the infill material to the replacement footway, installed service ducts and ductile iron drainage outlets complete with cast iron flap valves. As an accredited contractor, we supplied and laid 750sqm of the Rocbinda resin bonded aggregate system to provide the decorative anti-slip footway finish.
We also constructed a curved concrete block and rendered raised planter including supply and installation of soft landscaping within. The footway was finished with the installation of the new street furniture. The project was delivered to project plan timescales and to budget.
