McFadyens Contractors worked alongside BAM Nuttall Ltd as the main subcontractor for the extensive ground slab works on this crucial quay expansion project.
Works to the ground slabs involved fabrication of in excess of 200 tonnes of steel reinforcement; supply and formation of 2000sqm of 350mm thick concrete ground slabs. In addition to this, underground drainage, ducts and manholes were installed to facilitate area lighting and services together with reinforced foundation works for 25m high lighting masts.
We supplied, imported and prepared the ground slab sub-base material; carried out reinforcement fabrication to form the capping beam along a newly formed combi-piled quay wall.
We also drilled and formed around 2000 resin anchors to secure, supply and form a 400sqm concrete overlay to the existing open deck.
Road reconstruction works to the quay vehicular access were also undertaken involving realignment of kerbs and formation of 400sqm of road.
Regular on-site Project Co-ordination with BAM ensured the works were delivered successfully and without incident.
