McFadyens Contractors carried out this project as Principal Contractor to Forestry Commission Scotland.

The project involved the construction of a 44T Steel and Timber Road Bridge of 6.5m clear span. Works consisted of excavations to create foundations, erection of fully designed formwork systems, pouring of reinforced concrete abutments and assembly and launching of steel and timber deck. Our crane was used extensively during construction for pouring of concrete, formwork erection and lifting pre-assembled deck into position.

On completion of the bridge, the approach roads were constructed and drainage and groundworks were carried to Forestry Commission Scotland specification. The contract was carried out with rigorous Health and Safety procedures in place and as a result was completed on time and with zero accidents.
