McFadyens Contractors carried out this project as Principal Contractor to Marine Harvest (Scotland) Ltd. Works commenced in November 2013 and were completed in December 2013.
The project involved the construction of a complex 7.2×5.2×3.2m in-situ RC basin to accommodate our client’s seawater recirculation system, complete with internal weir walls, filter plinths and bypass drain pipes. Works consisted of excavation to form a 3.2×1.8×1.5m deep two pit RC sump, formation of 200mm thick RC ground slabs and walls complete with hydrophillic water stops. Installation of under basin drainage system and a 300mm seawater inlet drain system.
The completed concrete structure was coated with a crystalline waterproofing system. Project co-ordination was paramount, McFadyens Contractors worked extensively with the Client and US based designer on all aspects of the project.
Throughout the contract McFadyens Contractors ensured that – as on all our Sites – the workmanship, contract management and attitude to Health and Safety was of paramount importance and as a result the project was delivered on time, on budget and with zero accidents.
