McFadyens Contractors carry out a range of Community Initiatives, to improve and enhance the area and projects within Campbeltown and Kintyre.

As part of the Campbeltown Community Council’s 2017 seafront improvement project we erected new information boards, which interpret and depict several aspects of Campbeltown’s heritage to locals and visitors alike.

In 2016 we constructed a new 200m running track with graded stone as a gift to Campbeltown Junior Running Club. The track offers club members including talented youth a more systematic approach to training, and allows runners to continue training during the winter months on a safer and more reliable surface.

For the last 3 years we have proudly sponsored the popular local Am-Am golfing competition, which takes place at the world-renowned Machrihanish Golf Club.

In 2013 we contributed to the restoration of the Campbeltown War Memorial ahead of commemorating the centenary of the First World War. Repair works which were voluntarily undertaken included formation of new pathways, applying a resin bound gravel finish and preparing foundations for newly-installed street furniture.

Since 2009 we have been sponsors to the local amateur football team – Campbeltown Pupils AFC – an institution which dates back nearly a century, and have proved to be one of the top teams in the Scottish Amateur Football League for over 40 years.

Kintyre Schools Pipe Band have benefited from sponsorship – helping to encourage youngsters into Music and develop into professional musicians. Since being formed they have competed successfully at not only national but international level.
